Millington Cardinals vs Vassar Vulcans



Millington scored early and often in their season-opening victory over their M-15 rival Vassar. The Cardinals scored 21 points in the first quarter as they cruised to a 55-6 win.

Brady Payne led the team offensively and defensively. Payne ran the ball eight times for 142 yards while scoring two touchdowns. He also nine tackles, including four for a loss and one sack.

The former TVC-East foes will square off for the 2nd straight season.  Millington came out on top 42-28 last year and holds a 31-25 series edge over the Vulcans.  The renewed rivalry took a hiatus in 2008, as Vassar moved over to the Greater Thumb West.  Both teams went 8-2 last season, falling in the District Opener.
